Lizzy Ventham Philosophy

I’m currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at The University of Liverpool. Here I am working on a project called ‘How Does It Feel? Interpersonal Understanding and Affective Empathy’. You can find details of the project here: https://www.uni-due.de/philo_ude/how-does-it-feel/

I am also a member of a scientific research network on the role of ambivalence in suicidal agency. https://www.ambivalence.info/

Previously I was a Teaching Fellow for two years at Trinity College Dublin, where I taught a variety of modules and supervised both BA and MPhil students. See my CV below for more details.

At the moment I’m particularly interested in normativity, pleasure and pain, the philosophy of mental health, moral psychology, normative ethics, desire, and wellbeing.
